Disposal of old distress flares

Coastguard advise the following:

• Hand unwanted or expired flares can be taken to All Marine in Port Road, Whangarei. They can be taken to the local police station or Coastguard who will then need to forward them to All Marine. Less handling if they are taken direct to All Marine.
• Never leave them outside for someone to collect, or put them in the rubbish.
• Never incinerate or let off expired flares.
