Types of Memberships

Ordinary Membership
This membership is for the full use of our facilities, full voting rights at all General Meetings, receives Club Newsletters, and covers all of the persons residing at the address of the Recorded Member. When a family member moves out of the Recorded Member’s address he will have to become a Member in his own right and go through the joining process with all applicable fees.

Associate Membership
This membership does not have a swipe card for access to our facilities, has no voting rights at General Meetings, receives Club Newsletters and maintains his continuity of membership –  It is designed for members who may be “between boats”. For example, they may have sold their boat while they go abroad for a year but want to go back to using the club when they return. This enables them to keep their membership alive at a reduced fee level but Veteran status will not be retained.

Veteran Membership
Once a member has held continuous membership for 10 years, AND is aged 60 years or over, he will automatically become a Veteran Member with approx, 50% fees applicable. If you are a member for 25 continuous years you also qualify for veteran membership regardless of age.

Life Membership
Such memberships are awarded by the Executive Committee from time to time and are generally for persons who have rendered special service to the club over a long period of time.

Complimentary or Honorary Membership
These too are at the discretion of the Executive Committee and will be for persons who the Committee determines are carrying out a valuable service to the community at large and for whom the use of our facilities could be of benefit. An example of this is Dr Ingrid Visser who does such sterling work in protection of the Orcas.

Requirements for Ordinary Membership
